Casa Los Ebanos......Rich in History
In 1781 this property was part of the Espiritu Santo, a land grant to the de la Garza family from the king of Spain. Over 150 years later, it became the homestead of the late Frank and Martha Russell who bought the property in the 1930's and cleared it for the farming of cotton, sugarcane, vegetables and sorghum, retaining 82 acres for their home and private use.
Family members opened the 82 acres to the public in 2002 as a small birding and butterfly venue and called it Los Ebanos Preserve because of the abundance of Texas Ebony trees, and began to host weddings and other events in the house and grounds called Casa Los Ebanos. Since 2002, we have hosted hundreds of weddings and other events and would be pleased to make an appointment to welcome you to this very special property.
Our location at the junction of two major highways between Harlingen and Brownsville makes Casa Los Ebanos a Valley-wide favorite for all types of events: weddings and receptions, showers, quinceañeras, reunions, parties, day retreats, and business meetings.
